Farmers Market Finds
At the farmers market I found these multicolored eggs. I was especially taken with the blue ones. The vendor said blue eggs were from Americana chickens, while there we Easter Egrets, Rhode Island Red, and Black Copper birds as well. He said that they tasted all the same, but some people felt that they were more “nutritious” which be both doubted.
Once cracked, they all looked the same regardless of colors of the shells, but the membranes of the blue egg was thinner than most commercial eggs. That could be attributed to age, I would assume.
I kept the box opened on the counter as I just enjoyed having such beautiful items in my kitchen for a few weeks.
