There are many properties of thyme that is supposedly good for our health, from stopping hair loss, reduce period bleeding, sore throats and stomach problems. Health benefits are also true for ginger and honey. I wanted to add thyme and ginger into my diet more often, but there is only so many thyme baked chicken my son and I can eat, and I wasn’t sure if the properties remained in such small quantities after being heated over a long period.
So I started making tea instead. It’s so simple, boil hot water, slice some ginger (I always cut the skin away), add a few sprigs of thyme and two teaspoon of honey.
This has also helped me stop using tea bags, another step towards zero waste.
In order to have thyme in the house all the time, I buy a bunch of them at the farmer’s market and put it in a jar of water then into the fridge straight away, and it keeps for three weeks.
