Gold Shrimp Dumpling on the 101th Floor.

IMG_1720This is a shrimp dumpling or a prawn dumpling in the more British parts of the world.

Inside the very thin piece of tapioca and what starch wrapping is one or two full shrimp. It’s part of dim sum array of dishes, a kind of Cantonese Cuisine, which we will talk more about.

The sauce is XO sauce, a soft chili sauce made with dried scallops that is eaten with dim sim, and often noodles. It’s not part of the dish, but an addition on the side.

And yes, it’s real gold sprinkled on top.

My aunt wanted to take us to somewhere special on our trip back to Hong Kong and decided on Dragon Seal Restaurant on the 101th floor. As you can imagine the views were incredible, all those tiny cars and boats, and tall buildings that still seem short in comparison.

There is a thrill eating that many floors of the ground. There is a thrill being that many floors off the ground. It’s pretty amazing to be sitting in one of the tallest building in the world.img_5360

I would link the restaurant website for you if they had one, which they don’t, the restaurant is that well known, they don’t need to advertise.

Here, one little bite from the top of the world.
